General Flight Information
Flights are in the air for at least 45 minutes.
We have a champagne toast after we land. This ballooning tradition dates back to the 1780s.
We fly 2-3 passengers per flight.
Our chase crew helps us launch, follows us as we fly and helps us pack up when we land.
Passengers are driven back to the launch site after the flight.
Balloons only fly within 2 hours of sunrise or sunset.
We typically launch from sites around Skaneateles, Marcellus, Auburn, Conquest, or Weedsport. I’ll consider passengers’ own property if you let me know beforehand so I can scout out the site to see if it’s appropriate.
All rides are weather dependent … because “It’s better to be down here wishing we were up there than to be up there wishing we were down here.”
Balloon rides are generally slow, relaxing experiences. We literally float in air, and only fly when the wind is 10 mph or less. I’ve flown thousands of passengers (as old as 92) and none have ever been injured.
